Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Meal Planner & Shopping App (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the App operator.

Your continued use of the App following any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

2. No Medical Advice

IMPORTANT: The App is intended for general informational and convenience purposes only. Nothing contained in the App constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Specifically, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Meal recommendations, nutritional information, and dietary suggestions provided by the App are not medical advice and should not be treated as such.
  • The App is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified healthcare provider.
  • You should always consult a licensed physician, registered dietitian, or other qualified medical professional before beginning any new diet, nutrition plan, or significant change to your eating habits.
  • Individual dietary needs vary based on health conditions, medications, age, activity level, and other factors that the App cannot assess.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately. Do not rely on this App for emergency guidance.

3. Allergen Information & Food Safety

While we strive to provide accurate allergen information, it is your sole responsibility to verify the suitability of any recipe or meal plan for your dietary needs and restrictions.

You acknowledge that:

  • All recipes displayed in the App are intended to be validated for common allergens, including but not limited to: peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, and sesame. However, the App does not guarantee the absence of cross-contamination or undisclosed ingredients in any product purchased through linked retailers.
  • Ingredient formulations can change, and the App's allergen data may not reflect the most current product information.
  • You must independently verify allergen information on product packaging before consumption, particularly if you or someone in your household has a known food allergy or intolerance.
  • The App expressly disclaims liability for any allergic reaction, injury, or adverse health event resulting from reliance on allergen information provided within the App.

4. Third-Party Terms of Service

The App integrates with third-party platforms and services to deliver its features. By using the App, you also agree to comply with the applicable terms of service of our integration partners, including:

  • Anthropic Terms of Service:AI-powered meal planning and recipe generation features are powered by Anthropic's Claude technology. Your use of these features is subject to Anthropic's Terms of Service and Usage Policies, available at anthropic.com/legal/consumer-terms.
  • Kroger Terms of Service:Shopping list generation, product pricing, and grocery ordering features may be fulfilled through Kroger's platform. Your use of these features is subject to Kroger's Terms and Conditions, available at kroger.com/i/legal/terms-of-use.

In the event of a conflict between these Terms and any third-party terms, the more restrictive terms shall apply with respect to the relevant third-party service. We are not responsible for any changes made by third parties to their terms or services.

5. Account Access & Prohibited Sharing

Your account is personal to you. You may not share, sell, transfer, sublicense, or otherwise provide access to your account to any third party.

You are solely responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • All activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts found to be shared, transferred, or accessed by multiple individuals. Accounts created or used in violation of this provision may be permanently banned without refund.

6. Rate Limits on Meal Plan Generation

To ensure fair access and service quality for all users, meal plan generation features — including AI-powered recipe suggestions, weekly meal plans, and custom dietary recommendations — are subject to rate limiting.

This means:

  • You may be limited in the number of meal plans, recipe suggestions, or AI-generated recommendations you can request within a given time period (e.g., per hour, per day, or per billing cycle).
  • Rate limits vary by subscription tier. Free accounts have lower limits than paid subscriptions.
  • If you reach a rate limit, you will be notified within the App and may be prompted to wait before making additional requests or to upgrade your subscription.
  • We reserve the right to adjust rate limits at any time with reasonable notice to users.

Attempts to circumvent rate limits through technical means, multiple accounts, or other methods are prohibited and may result in account suspension.

7. Privacy, Dietary Preferences & Advertising

By using the App, you consent to the collection and use of information about you as described in our Privacy Policy. In particular, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

7.1 Use of Dietary Preferences for Market Research

Dietary preferences, food restrictions, cuisine interests, and meal planning behavior you provide to or generate within the App may be used for internal market research purposes. This includes analyzing aggregate trends in user dietary habits to improve App features, inform product development, and understand our user base.

7.2 Use of Dietary Preferences for Advertising

Your dietary preferences and in-App behavior may also be used to deliver personalized advertising within the App and, where permitted by law, through our advertising partners. This may include:

  • Displaying food product advertisements tailored to your dietary interests (e.g., vegan products shown to users who select a plant-based preference).
  • Sharing aggregated or pseudonymized dietary preference data with advertising partners for targeted marketing campaigns.
  • Using your shopping and recipe engagement history to inform sponsored product placement within meal plans and shopping lists.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content is accurate or complete.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to health-related outcomes, food-related illness or injury, or data loss, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by sending an in-app notification or email. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
